Our Fall Faves
Whether you have already planned out your perfectly picturesque, pumpkin lined, patio, or you’re soaking up the last rays of Summer sun, we all have to admit: Fall is coming. With this season turn, comes many of our fashion bestie’s favorite season for fashion: the textures, the colors, the layering, there is just something about Autumn that gets us excited to rework our closet, shop for some newness…and buy candy corn and watch Gilmore Girls (just us? Cool, cool)
Breaking down trends is an age old pastime for stylists like us and while we won’t get too fashion nerdy on you, we will remind you of a few things before you read through this curated collection of cooler weather goodies.
Don’t forget…
Trends come and go and its important to identify what is a piece worth investing in because it has staying power… (not a micro trend or fad that will inevitably only be worn a few times until the trend cycles back).
While everything does cycle back, when it comes back we need to refresh it and make it feel more modern and less “exactly how we wore it the last time around”. We’re dishing out HOW to wear these trends, next up on the blog, so stay tuned!
If you already have something like it in your closet, see if you can restyle it to make it work for what is current now instead of simply buying new.
We’ll be honest, when we analyzed the runways and retailers we felt like we jumped into a timehop (still a thing?) to look at photos of ourselves exactly 10 years ago. Soooo many of the trends we’re seeing now were happening a decade ago, and it will be fun to see how we all evolve these trends to make them feel fresh.
With each trend we have three top suggestions to try labeled Luxe, Slow, Low and here’s what each one means:
Luxe: From designers or labels we see as quality and worth the investment if your lifestyle allows.
Slow: A slow fashion option which could mean quality secondhand, or from a brand that values the earth and ethics when making new garments.
Low: The investment is lower here if you want to try a trend, but don’t feel ready to invest, or you just prefer the lower cost over other factors. (Finding the secondhand version is an even better option when wanting to not invest, just saying.)
Let’s do this! Dive on into that pile of leaves, or yummy sweaters, and let’s get excited for Fall!

Boho’s Back, Alright
Yep, she’s back. Let’s take a moment to think fondly of our Boho Babes of days gone by: Stevie Nicks, Cher, Sienna MIller, The Olsen Twins. We’ll take on bohemian style differently this time around, but remember the hallmarks of this style; an eclectic blending of patterns, textures, accessories. This time, less whimsical and more refined, while still feeling organic and free.

All In Favor Of Flats
We’re sure you’ve notice the takeover of flats in the last few seasons, and this is a trend that has staying power. With so many fun details available; think buckles, bows, straps, mesh, studs, their is a pair for every personality and foot out there. Try a Mary Jane to add a feminine flair, or stick with a basic round toe for some Audrey Hepburn nostalgic.

Color Crush:Brown & Burgundy
Sometimes a trend can be a color that feels everywhere. Last year, we saw the proliferation of red, and now we’re seeing it shift into a deeper burgundy and even brown. It’s nice to have a color to play with that feels fresh, and is an easy way to incorporate a Fall trend into your wardrobe without being so time stamped to a certain fad or era. Work in your Oxblood and Chocolate hues in a full look or small dose in your outfit.
